Merit Badge College

posted Jan 25, 2012, 6:21 PM by Web Admin   [ updated Jan 25, 2012, 6:23 PM ]

Merit Badge College is coming March 24th and April 21st.  The cost of Merit Badge College is $15.00 per scout.  Please bring the fee to the next meeting, January 30th and be prepared to submit your choices to Ms. Rakes or Ms. Barber.  For a description of Merit Badge College and the schedule, click here.  Please do not register for MBC on your own, this will be done as a troop.

While Merit Badge College gives your son an extra chance to work on advancement and merit badges, it also provides an excellent opportunity for the boys to meet scouts in other troops throughout the Blue Ridge Mountain Council.  Those opportunities are priceless.

If you have any questions about Merit Badge College, please get with an adult leader at the Jan 30th troop meeting.

Summer Base Camp

posted Jan 11, 2012, 9:24 AM by Web Admin

The troop has reserved the week of June 24-June 30 for summer base camp. Base camp gives the scout the opportunity to work on 3-4 merit badges and the experience of scout camp with other scouts from across the state. We will begin to work on commitment letters at the next troop meeting (Jan.23) and collection of camp payments. Mr. Hudson will be attending the entire camp. Also there are other camps to attend the same week  for those who have attended base camp multiple times. These camps fill up rather quickly. We hope all can sign-up.

Thanks to all who supported our troop by purchasing a tree or wreath.  And thanks to all the boys and parents who toughed it out to make the Christmas tree sale a success.
